Directions
Keep refrigerated at 38 degrees F (3 degrees C) or less. Use within four days of opening. Perishable: keep refrigerated at 38 degrees or below. Serving suggestions: Remove the skin from each fillet and cut the meat into pieces to be served in an omelet with tomatoes and mushrooms or over a creamy pasta dish. Our smoked whitefish is also wonderful in chowders or mixed with cream cheese to create a flavorful spread to enjoy on a bagel. To spice up a quiche, incorporate whitefish into the recipe. For baked potato lovers, include it along with sour cream & chives. Storage: Ducktrap river whitefish has been carefully wrapped in a vacuum package for your convenience. Since we use no artificial preservatives, it must be kept refrigerated. Your smoked whitefish is best stored for up to 10 days in a refrigerator or until the "use by" date, whichever is sooner. When opened, smoked whitefish should be well wrapped in the refrigerator and eaten within 4 days. You may also freeze smoked whitefish, if unopened, for up to 3 months.
