Region and History: The dense slate Ilicorella soils of Priorat produce vines with a unique mineral complexity. These soils, first planted by Carthusians in the 12th century, were worked by miners and monks for centuries. Vinification: Extensive leaf thinning and green harvest. 20-25 days total maceration, 8-15 days temperature-controlled fermentation, then aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Aroma: Expressive and refined with complex overtones of fresh fruits, woodland spices, balsamic and minerals.
