First piece of eight. Small Batch Rum, finished in Walker's Cay Bourbon Barrels. Walker's Cay. On new years day in 1656, the Spanish Galleon, Nuestra Senora de las Maravillas left Havana with 650 souls, millions of ounces of gold and silver, a 400 pound gold table encrusted with emeralds, diamonds and rubies, and a priceless five food solid gold statue of the Madonnna and child. Four days into her journey, a fatal tragedy befell the Maravillas and the galleon was smashed into pieces on the Little Bahama Bank, just west of Walker's Cay. The majority of her billion-dollar bounty and a great number of those on board spilled into the warm currents and were swallowed by the shifting sands, never to be recovered.
