Directions
Keep frozen. Cooking instructions: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and position rack to lowest level. Remove defrosted turkey from wrapper. Remove giblets (if present) and neck. Rinse with cold water and pat dry. Season with salt, and pepper, inside and out. Stuff lightly if desired. Place turkey on a rack in a shallow, uncovered roasting pan, breast side up. Brush lightly with oil. Baste occasionally with pan juices. See roasting table below for cooking time. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy by inserting it into the thickest part of the thigh, without touching the bone. Temperature in the thigh needs to reach 180 degrees F. The center of the stuffing should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Let turkey stand 20 minutes before carving. Storage: store frozen turkey at 0 degrees F and use within 12 months of purchase for best quality. Use defrosted turkey within three days of thawing. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hrs. After roasting. Use refrigerated cooked turkey within 3 days. Defrosting: Defrost turkey in its original wrapper, in the refrigerator. Allow 24 hours for every 5 pounds of meat. Once completely defrosted, use within two days. Quick method defrosting: Leave turkey in its original wrapper, place in a large pot and cover completely with cold water. Change water every half hour, allowing 30 minutes per pound. Do not defrost products containing liver in the microwave. When liver is enclosed, it must be broiled prior to use to ensure kashrus. It is contained in an individual bag.
