Directions

What you need: 1 cup water. 1 egg. 1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. Combine mix, water and egg in small bowl. Stir with whisk or spoon until well blended. Pour mixture into ungreased 8 or 9-inch square pan. 3. Bake at 375 degrees F as directed below or until top springs back when touched lightly in center. 8x8-inch pan - 25 to 30 minutes. 9x9-inch pan - 20 to 25 minutes. High altitude (above 3500 feet): add 1 tablespoon flour to dry mix and increase water to 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons. Bake at lowest oven position. Tips: serve warm with whipped cream, ice cream, applesauce, orange marmalade or lemon sauce (see side panel). To reheat, cover gingerbread with foil. Heat at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. For gingerbread muffins, prepare mix in small bowl as directed above. Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper baking cups. Divide batter among muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
