Stuffing tips. Stuffing needs room to expand, don't overstuff. Bake any extra stuffing in a covered bake dish at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Only stuff poultry immediately before roasting. Create your own recipe. Prepare stuffing according to the directions and add any of the following: Chopped cooked giblets. 1 cup sauteed chopped onion and/or celery. 2 cups chopped apples, 1/2 cup raisins and 1 tbsp sugar. 1 cup chopped walnuts or chestnuts. 1 cup sauteed sliced mushrooms. 1 cup chopped raw cranberries. Bread retains its best quality if stored at room temperature. For best results, use bread by date on package. Store in cool, dry place. Preparation guide: To prepare: 14-16lb. turkey. Stuffing: 14 oz. bag. Water: 1 1/2 cups. Butter or Margarine: 1 stick (8Tbsp). To prepare: 8-10lb. turkey or side dish (6-8 servings). Stuffing: 1/2 of a 14 oz bag. Water: 3/4 cup. Butter or Margarine: 1/2 stick (4Tbsp). To prepare: Fish or 4 pork chops. Stuffing: 1cup. Water: 1/3 cup. Butter or Margarine: (2Tbsp). Saucepan directions: 1. Heat water and butter (or margarine) until boiling. 2. Remove from heat. Add stuffing. 3. Fluff lightly with a fork until moist throughout. Microwave directions: 1. In a covered microwave bowl, heat water and butter (or margarine) until boiling. 2. Remove from microwave. Add stuffing. 3. Fluff lightly with a fork until moist throughout.
