Planting your micro dome! 1. Place your decal on terrarium base. 2. Place the germination disk inside the base of the dome and slowly add 3/4 cup of distilled water directly on the disk. Use only distilled water. This is not spring, mineral, or tap water. Rain water is the only possible substitute. Use a spoon to spread the mixture that will immedi-ately start growing. 3. Use the spoon to aerate and evenly space soil across the dome and press smooth. The seeds are tiny. Empty the small inner pack onto the crease of a folded piece of paper. Spread your seeds on top of the germination mixture at least 1/2 inch apart. Press seeds down into the soil and slightly cover with soil. 5. These seeds will take 6 weeks to 3 months to sprout, so you will need to be patient and make sure container stays moist, but not saturated. Use only distilled or rainwater. 6. Place your stake and red jasper stone in your fly trap habitat. Put the lid on the base, lining up the tabs and viewing window with the decal. 7. Place planted terrarium in bright indirect light, where it will not easily be knocked over. 8. Seeds will germinate in 6 to 12 weeks. 9. Keep top on until your plants grow. Insects will come in through the vents when they smell the traps. 10. When plants die back, you will need to give them a cold period. Cut back and put in refrigerator for 6-8 weeks. Keep soil barely moist during that time. Then remove, saturate, and keep moist with distilled water. They are perennials used to a light frost. 11. Never feed your plants raw meat. When the traps get larger, you can feed them tiny amounts of cooked meat.
