Product Details

Founded in 1920, Casa Ermelinda Freitas is a winery with a long tradition in the southern Portuguese wine-growing region of Fernando Po. The Festivo is made from the Castelao 90% and Alicante Bouschet 10%, grape varieties, wich is considered to be the oldes on the Peninsula de Setubal. The result is a full-bodied red wine that shows intense aromas of dark fruits, complemented by spicy notes from the barrique aging. Enormously concentrated in the mouth, but fresh thanks to the sandy soil and the cooling Atlantic breeze-typical of first-class wines from the peninsula just outside Lisbon.
