Lay herbal pad in a shallow bowl and cover with boiling water. Steep for approx. 5 min. and let cool to touch. Very gently drain extra liquid from pad, leaving it moist but not soaking. Don't squeeze! The herbal pads are fragile and can burst. Apply moist pad directly to perineum warm, or cool in the freezer and apply iced. But wait! Save the remaining liquid and use the healing herbally goodness to pour onto an extra postpartum pad and store in the freezer for later use.
