Brewing the perfect cup: Begin with a immaculately clean coffeemaker. Use two level (measuring) tablespoons of freshly ground coffee for each six-ounces of water. Fresh, clean, and cold water drawn immediately prior to brewing works best. Brew the coffee at 195-205 degrees F (91-96 degrees C). For automatic drip brewers use a medium grind (15 seconds in a blade grinder) and a four to six minute brew cycle. For press pots use a coarse grind (10-12 seconds in a blade grinder) and let steep for four to six minutes. For optimum flavor, drink coffee within 15 minutes of brewing or transfer to a stainless steel insulated airtight container.
