The Spannuth family has been baking pretzels for six generations dating back to the late 1800's. Your Extra Dark "Splits" were left in the oven just a bit longer to allow for a nicely burnt outside, giving it that bold, charred flavor you love... but don't worry, we removed it in time to keep the rest of the pretzels' crunch and flavor.
