It is made from freshly squeezed organic sugar cane juice, which is evaporated and crystallized on the same day it is harvested. Organic sugar is produced from 100% organic sugar cane. In adherence with strict organic standards, the fields are green cut and not burned or treated with herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. No chemicals or animal by-products are used to decolorize this sugar, making it ideal for vegans. The Fairtrade certification guarantees farmers receive a fair price for their crops plus an additional premium payment that is used to benefit the community.
