Directions

Lighting instructions. In a clean grill, open the lid, remove the grill grate and open all vents. Concentrate your briquets in one pile to allow for quicker starting. To get the best flavor we recommend not using lighter fluid. Light your briquets using a charcoal chimney, electric starter, or using fire starters intended for use in grills. A charcoal chimney requires newspaper as the starter and helps stack the charcoal for quicker lighting. Allow 10-15 minutes for charcoal to glow orange and ash over. Spread out the charcoal and replace the grill grate. Wait 5 minutes and begin cooking. Control the temperature of your grill by closing the lid and adjusting the air vents. The more air flow, the hotter the fire. For your safety: never use gasoline to light charcoal. Make sure ashes are cold before discarding. Never barbeque indoors. Place grill away from all flammable items (trees, overhangs, buildings, etc). Should more cooking time be needed, add more John Wayne hardwood briquets. For best results, store this bag in a dry place. Close bag tightly after use. Grill should be placed on a level surface. Do not pour lighter fluid on burning briquets.
