Boiling Seafood 1. Prep fill a large pot with 3 quarts of water. Add seafood boil. Stir well and bring to a rolling boil. 2. Boil: add seafood. If seafood is not covered, add enough water to cover. Return to a rolling boil. Boil seafood as indicated in chart below. Boiling Guide*. Seafood Type: Crawfish 3 lbs package boils, 4 mins boil time, 15-30+ mins soak time. Shrimp: 4 lbs pakage boils, turn of heat as soon as water returns to a rolling boil time. 5-10+ mins soak time. Crab: 8 medium package boils, 5 mins boil time, 15-30+ mins soak time. *Boil seafood to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. 3. Soak: turn of fire, add ice or frozen corn to cool water down, and let seafood soak as indicated. The longer it soaks, the spicier it will be.
