How to jump start an engine: Step 1: connect POS(+) cable to POS(+) terminal of stalled vehicles battery. Step 2: connect other end of POS(+) cable to POS(+) terminal of booster battery. Then connect NEG(-) cable to NEG(-) terminal of booster battery. Step 3: connect NEG(-) cable to engine block or chassis of stalled vehicle. Do not connect to negative post. Start vehicle and remove cables in reverse order of connection.

Batteries produce explosive gases:
Note - consult automobile owner's manual and follow all instructions. Shield eyes and face from batteries at all times. Be sure vent caps are tight and level. Place damp cloth over any vent caps on both batteries. Handle cloth carefully - do not allow cloth to come in contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Be sure vehicles do not touch and both electrical systems are off and the same voltage. Be careful to avoid moving fan blades.
