Roof Mounting Instructions: Place antenna base on vehicle roof where desired and run coaxial cable through a window. Connect to the CB antenna receptacle. Remove thread protector cap on antenna base and screw rubber antenna onto base. CB Antenna Tuning Instructions: Best performance can be obtained by tuning your antenna system with an SWR meter. If one is not available, set your transceiver to channel 20 (for 40 channel units) or channel 12 (for 23 channel units) and adjust tuner tip until maximum reading on radio meter is achieved. If SWR Meter is Available, Follow these Instructions: 1. Connect SWR meter to antenna output on CB. Connect antenna lead to antenna output on SWR meter. 2. Remove rubber cap from top of antenna to reveal tuner tip. 3. Turn CB channel selector to channel 20 or channel 12 (see above). 4. While depressing mic switch to activate CB transmitter, adjust SWR by tuning tip until maximum reading is attained. 5. Switch SWR meter to the other position and turn turner tip until lowest SWR meter reading is attained. 6. To maintain low SWR, it is a good idea to periodically (every 3 to 6 months) clean all metal connection parts with a wire brush.
