Keep frozen. Recommended cooking times. Use frozen shrimp. Shrimp size per pound (as listed on front of pkg.) - Boil. 31-40 through 21-25 - 2 1/2 -3 min. 61-70 through 41-50 - 2-2 1/2 min. 90-130 through 71-90 - 2 min. Use thawed shrimp. Saute - Grill/BBQ. 2 1/2 - 4 min - 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 min. 2-2 1/2 min - 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 min. 1 1/2 -2 min 2- 2 1/2 min. Longer cooking time applies to larger shrimp. Shrimp will turn light orange outside and opaque white inside when fully cooked. Quick thawing instructions: place shrimp into colander and rinse with cold running water until thawed, lightly rotating shrimp. Let drain 2 minutes before cooking. Boil-perfect for shrimp cocktail: if desired, add salt, celery, bay leaf or other seasonings to water before boiling. Place frozen shrimp into boiling water and simmer. If serving chilled, immediately submerge shrimp into a bowl of ice and cold water for 2 minutes to stop the cooking process. Let drain 2 minutes before serving. Saute-delicious in pasta and stir-frys: heat butter or oil in skillet. Add thawed shrimp, desired ingredients and saute. If using lemon juice, wine or sauce, add at the last minute.
