Rules and Games: Four Square: The object of the games is to advance to position 1 and stay there. One player starts in each square (1 of 4). Player 1 is server, and starts the game by bouncing ball once, then strikes the ball with an open hand directing it into any of the remaining squares. The receiver must strike the ball before the second bounce, aiming it to of the other squares. Play continues in this fashion. A player who misses or fouls, leaves the game and stands at the end of the waiting line as the other players advance one square (4 to 3 to 2 to 1). The first person in the waiting line enters square 4. Fouls: 1. Failing to return. 2. Striking the ball with your first. 3. Ball landing on any line. 4. Allowing the ball to touch any part of the body other than your hands. Dodge Ball (Version No. 1): Have 1-5 players stand in front of a wall. The striker, stands behind a line drawn parallel to the wall 10-15 feet away and tries to hit the players by throwing the ball. When you miss, the ball will bounce back to you. When you hit the players, they are eliminated one by one. The last remaining player in front of the wall becomes the striker and the game begins again. Dodge Ball (Version No. 2): Any number of players can play. One to four player are selected to be in the middle of the circle. Players inside the circle try to avoid being hit by members of the outer Circle. Players in the middle exchange places with the player who hit them from the outer circle. Soak Um: Any number of people can play. Divide into two teams. Separate the teams by drawing a chalk line on the floor (indoors) or a line in the or glass (outdoors). Use the four square ball to try to hit members of the opposing team. When a player is hit they go out the court area. The last player to remain on the court wins the game for the entire team. The court area should be confined so that team members have to stay in a designated area while playing. Kick Ball: On a baseball diamond, form two teams. The steam up kicks the ball from home plate and runs the bases as in baseball. A player running the bases can be put out in the conventional fashion (i.e. ball being field strikes the runner with the ball or if the ball is caught in the air after being kick before changing sides. Score is kept the same as baseball.
