Directions

General information: To function properly, all bulbs must be firmly pushed into the sockets. If a bulb is loose or removed from the socket, the set will not light. Each bulb, except the clear flasher bulb (red-tipped) contains a shunting device designed to keep the set operating if one or more bulbs burn out. To make this set a flashing set, replace a regular bulb with a red-tipped bulb. When a bulb eventually burns out, it should be replaced immediatly to prolong the life of the other bulbs in the set, and to reduce the risk of overheating. Broken bulbs do not make contact. A broken bulb must be replaced for the set to light. Important: read enclosed directions carefully before using this set. To replace lamp: 1. Grasp plug and remove from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on cord 2. Pull lamp and plastic base straight out of lampholder. 3. Replace lamp with only 2.5 volt type lamp (provided with product). 4. If the lamp base of the replacement lamp does not fit in the string: a. Straighten the two wires on the end of the original burned-out lamp and remove the lamp base. b. Straighten the two wires on the end of the new lamp and remove the lamp base. c. Guide the two wires of the new lamp into the two holes of the original lamp base and bend the wires back. 5. Caution - to reduce the risk of overheating, replace burned-out lamps promptly. Use 2.5 volt lamps only. Very important: Please read carefully all cautions to reduce the risk of fire and electrical shock.
