Shrimp Fra Diavolo with Penne Rigate: 1. Cook pasta according to package directions. 2. Meanwhile, heat the oil over a medium, high heat in a large skillet. Add onion and red pepper flakes and saute gently until translucent, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for one more minute. Tip: For a spicier dish, add another 1/4 tsp of crushed red pepper. 3. Add shrimp and saute until just cooked through, about 1 to 2 minutes. 4. Increase heat to high, stir in wine, tomatoes with their juice, salt and black pepper and bring to simmer. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes or until sauce has reduced slightly. Drain pasta, add to sauce and stir to coat. Garnish with basil. Tip: Sprinkle salt and pepper as if it were snowing to avoid lumping. This will season your shrimp evenly.
