Cooking directions: Simmer: for each 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 bag) of stew vegetables, bring 1/4 cup water to a boil. Add vegetables and bring to a second boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes, until just tender. Do not overcook. Drain. Season to taste. Easy beef barbecue stew: combine 2lbs lean cubed beef, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup barbecue sauce in a large pot or casserole, bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add 1 package (16 oz) of stew vegetables 1/2 hour before meat is tender. Serves 6. Microwave ovens: pour stew vegetables in 1-1/2 quart microwave-safe dish. Add water and cover. Microwave on high as directed on chart. Drain. Season to taste. Servings: 2 large - 6. Amount: 8 oz - 16 oz. Water: 1 tablespoon - 2 tablespoons. Cooking time*: 3 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 3 to 4 minutes. - 4 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 5 to 6 minutes. *Microwave cooking times may vary from one oven to another. For best results, consult owners manual. Keep frozen until ready to use.
