Safe Handling Instructions: Do no consume raw flour or dough. Sweet Milk Biscuits: 2 cups daily bread self - rising flour, 4 tablespoons shortening, 3/4 cup sweet milk. Sift daily bread self - rising flour into mixing bowl. Blend in shortening, add milk gradually until smooth. Toss on floured board, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut and place in greased shallow pan. Bake in 450 degrees oven. This makes 30 biscuits. (For buttermilk biscuits use 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, and substitute buttermilk for sweet milk). Economical Cream Cake: 3/4 cup shortening or oleomargarine, 1 cup sugar, 3 eggs, 2 cups daily bread self-rising flour (sifted three times), 3/4 cup milk. 2 teaspoons vanilla. Cream shortening and sugar together, add eggs, beating well, then flavoring. Add milk alternately with daily bread self-rising flour 9(starting and ending with flour). Beat well, pour into greased and floured pans. Bake in a moderate oven. This makes a two layer cake. Use your favorite icing.
