Directions

Medium White Sauce: 1-1/2 tablespoons butter; 1 tablespoon Karlin's Finest Corn Starch; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1/8 teaspoon pepper; 1 cup milk. Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in Karlin's Finest Corn Starch, salt, and pepper. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly. Bring to boil, continuing to stir. Boil one minute, stirring constantly. Makes 1 cup sauce. Variations: Cheese Sauce: Stir one cup grated cheddar or Swiss cheese into prepared sauce. Stir until melted. Serve over vegetables. Herb Sauce: Stir one tablespoon of fresh herbs such as basil, cilantro, dill, or tarragon into prepared sauce. Add one tablespoon of lemon juice, if desired. Serve over seafood or vegetables. Cooking Tips: 1 tablespoon Karli's Finest Corn Starch equals 2 tablespoons flour. Use for thickening gravies, sauces, stews, and soups. If the recipe calls for flour, use half as much cornstarch to thicken. When thickening hot liquids, mix Karlin's Finest Corn Starch with a small amount of cold water until smooth, then stir into hot liquid. Stir constantly until liquid comes to boil. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, about one minute. Karlin's Finest Corn Starch mixes with cold water more easily than flour does and will result in creamier, smoother gravies and sauces. Pull to open.
