You Will Need: 1 tablespoon melted butter; 2/3 cup water; 2 large eggs; 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Recipes makes 9 large cupcakes. Do not eat raw batter. High altitude (over 3,500 ft): Stir 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour into cupcake batter. Pre, bake, frost, and decorate as directed. Pan Size: 9 large cupcakes; 20-23 min bake time. Pan Size: 12 standard cupcakes; 17-20 min bake time. 1. Prep: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place paper liners in standard muffin cups. Pour cake mix into a large bowl. Scoop 1/3-cup cake mix into small bowl and set aside for making cake crumble. 2. Bake: Whisk cake mix, water, eggs, and vegetable oil together in large bowl until well blended. Divide batter evenly into pan. Bake on rack in center of oven according to chart, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely. 3. Crumble: Stir 1 tablespoon melted butter into reserved 1/3-cup cake mix until coarse crumbs form. Spread in even layer on ungreased baking sheet, breaking up any pieces that are larger than pea sized. Bake at 350 degrees F 4 to 6 minutes, until crumble is just starting to brown. Cool completely on wire rack. Crumble will be soft and continue to crisp as it cools. 4. Decorate: Frost cupcakes evenly with frosting pouch. Decorate with cooled crumble and sprinkles before frosting has time to set. Enjoy! Pro tip for a stuffed cupcake: Prepare 9 large cupcakes according to regular instructions. Prepare the crumble according to regular instructions. Stuff the cupcakes: Using the back of a spoon, press into the top of the cupcake to create a hole. Cut the corner of the frosting pouch at an angle to create a tip. Squeeze enough frosting into the hole of the cupcake until filled. Frost & decorate according to regular instructions.
