Directions

Makes a 9 in cast iron skillet or 9 in x 11 in sheet pan of cornbread (Needed. 2½ cups of The Redneck BBQ Lab Cornbread Mix. 8 ounces of water.1/8 stick melted butter or margarine.1 large egg.). preheat oven to 425 F. 1. Mix melted butter/margarine, egg and water together in a mixing bowl until smooth. 2. Add cornbread mix into the wet ingredients and stir until smooth. 3. Grease pan/skillet with butter/cooking spray and pour all of the cornbread mixture into it. 4. For best results, let mixture set for 20 minutes in skillet/pan. 5. Bake cornbread for 15-25 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted into the cornbread and removed with no wet batter clinging to the toothpick. 6. After removing from oven, let rest for 2-5 minutes before cutting.

Using the knowledge that my Mother taught me, I created this cornbread recipe and then refined it with my customers feedback to create what I think is the perfect product using locally sourced North Carolina ingredients.
