Preparation Instructions: Stove Top: 1. Combine 1 cup rice and 2 cups water in a 3-quart saucepan. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, margarine, or oil (if desired). 2. Bring contents to a boil. 3. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed. 4. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Covered before serving. Microwave: 1. Combine 1 cup rice and 2 cups water in a 2-quart microwave-safe dish. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, margarine, or oil (if desired). 2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15-20 minutes. 3. Remove from microwave and let stand for 5 minutes covered before serving. * Cooking times may vary due to differences in microwaves. Rice Cooker: 1 Combine 1 cup rice and 2 cups water. Add 1 tablespoon of butter, margarine, or pol (if desired). 2. Turn on the rice cooker, and if needed select the correct cooking instructions per your rice cooker (check manual). Fluff with a fork and serve. To retain vitamins, do not rinse before or drain after cooking.
