Directions

Cooking instructions: Covered pan: 1. Rinse rice thoroughly, in a sieve, under cold running water. For a tender grain, soak for 15 to 20 minutes, drain the rice. 2. For every cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cups of water. (optional: Add 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine and a pinch of salt). Bring to a boil, stir cover and simmer gently for 10 minutes or until the water is absorbed. 3. Remove from heat let stand for 5 minutes then serve. Microwave: 1. Rinse rice thoroughly, in a sieve, under cold running water. For a tender grain, soak for 15 to 20 minutes, drain the rice. 2. For every cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cups of water. Put measured rice and water into a deep, microwave safe bowl, cover and cook on "high" for 6 minutes. Uncover and stir, recover and cook on "defrost" for 6 minutes. For best result, do not cook more than 12 oz of rice at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Heating time may require adjustment. Store rice in a cool dry place.
