Bread Machine Directions (Makes a 1-1/2 lb loaf): 1. Pour 1-1/4 cups lukewarm water into bread machine pan*. 2. Remove yeast packet, pour remaining contents into pan. 3. Sprinkle yeast over top of mix, or put into yeast dispenser if available. 4. Set machine for a large, dense, whole wheat loaf*. *Bread machine features vary and may affect results. Put 1-1/4 cups lukewarm water in bowl, add yeast. 2. Vigorously stir in dry ingredients with spoon. Cover and let sit 30 min. in a warm place. 3. Lightly flour counter, then knead dough until tight and smooth. Cover and let rise until 1-1/2 times its size (approximately 1-1/2 2 hours). 4. Flatten dough with palm of hand. Roll up into a tight loaf. Place in greased loaf pan (or 5 cup container) and cover with towel. Allow to rise about 1 hour, or until bread springs back when lightly pressed. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes, or until crust is brown and firm.
