Directions

Small Reds Central American Style: Wash beans and place in pan with water. Add ham. When water boils lower heat to medium. Cook for 1 hour or until tender. Add potatoes and more water if needed. Cook for 20 minutes more. Saute the onion, bell pepper, garlic, tomato puree and bay leaf in hot oil for 5 minutes and add to the beans. Salt to taste and simmer until ready to serve. Serves 6.
