Bake: Cornbread, Muffins & Cornsticks Preparation: 1 pkg. Pioneer Yellow Cornbread mix. 1 egg, slightly beaten. 2/3 cup milk. Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Oil a round 8-inch pan, 6 muffin cups, or 9 cornstick molds. Mix egg and milk into cornbread mix. Stir until moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: 6 to 9 pieces. Hush Puppies Preparation: 1 egg, beaten. 1/4 cup milk. 1 pkg. Pioneer Yellow Cornbread mix. 1/4 tsp. garlic salt. 1/4 cup onion, minced. Vegetable oil for deep frying. Preheat oil 350 degree to 375 degree F. Blend egg and milk. Stir in garlic salt and onion. Add cornbread mix. Stir until blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: 20 11/2-inch hush puppies.
